“We are confident that the people of Pangasinan who gave President Aquino an overwhelming mandate in the 2010 presidential elections will deliver the same massive support for his handpicked senatorial candidates in May,” Drilon said at the packed Sison auditorium.
“Pangasinan has always been an Aquino country and we expect a big win for Team P-Noy here,” Drilon added.
Citing results of the 2007 senatorial elections, Drilon said a majority of the Team P-Noy candidates have always been winners in Pangasinan.
He noted that re-electionist Senators Alan Cayetano, Chiz Escudero, Loren Legarda, Aquilino Pimentel III and Antonio Trillanes as well as incumbent Sen. Edgardo Angara, father of Team P-Noy candidate Rep. Sonny Angara, and Sen. Manny Villar, husband of candidate former Rep. Cynthia Villar, registered impressive victories in the province in the 2007 senatorial election.
Pangasinan is one of the biggest provinces in Luzon with 1.62 million registered voters spread out in six districts covering 44 municipalities and four cities.
